Took 13 yrs to attain statehood, no hurry about BRS too: KTR
KTR during an informal chat with the media on Friday, said, “In Karnataka, the BRS would contest in alliance with JD(S) in the next LS polls. AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal went to Punjab after showcasing the development in Delhi.”
KTR, however, did not comment on contesting in Andhra Pradesh.
Elaborating on the decision to enter national politics, he said that KCR has a clear vision on how to take BRS forward and the move was not a hurried one.
“Before launching BRS, KCR interacted with several leaders, intellectuals and experts in various field for eight months and only then took the plunge into national politics,” KTR said.
Reacting to comments on BRS by some politicians, KTR said that even when TRS was launched people had ridiculed KCR, but they had to shut up after partyachieved the separate state goal. KTR said that it took 13 years for TRS to get separate statehood for Telangana and, similarly, BRS would also take some time.
He also reminded that BJP took decades to come to power from its small start in the 1980s.
“Many leaders and parties are keen on working with BRS. KCR has been getting messages from leaders every day,” KTR said.
Reiterating that KCR would remain Telangana CM even as he goes on a tour ofthe country, KTR said, “Narendra Modi toured the country and addressed several meetings in various states while being CM of Gujarat. Why not KCR?”.
The TRS working president also dismissed claims that BRS would eventually split opposition votes.
“Why do you people think that there will be only two parties, BJP and Congress, at the national level. Congress is facing an existential crisis. There is a political vacuum in the country,” KTR said.
