KCR addresses Modi, says stop toppling govts

The CM said, Tushar had contested as a NDA candidate from Wayanad in Kerala against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and claimed in the video he had already spoken to the BJP leadership on the deal.

Saying that he was holding the press meet with a heavy heart, the CM screened the 30-minute video, which he claimed was shortened from 3 hours for benefit of the media on Thursday night.

He appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi “not to resort to unholy practices to cling on to power”.

“I am your political colleague and am holding a constitutional position. I request you with folded hands to stop toppling governments. Honour the verdict of the people. Poaching of legislators is not good for the country and also for you. You have twice become PM of this great country. Nobody lives for 100 years. Earn a good name so that you are remembered by posterity. The accused trio was found repeatedly taking your name and also of home minister Amit Shah. Don’t stoop so low. Please arrest the culprits and rise above politics to save democracy” the TRS president said.

KCR claimed the footage had explosive information with accused Ramachandra Bharati explaining how they triggered defections in various states like Karnataka and Maharashtra and bulldozed eight state governments.

“BJP leaders claim they spent Rs 12,000 crore in various states. The video clearly shows how they approached legislators and whisked them away in special flights to topple governments. The three-hour footage has already submitted in the high court and it’s in the public domain,” he said.

The CM said he has full confidence in the judiciary as he had moved court when the poll panel denied a common symbol when he launched the party.

He said, it’s the responsibility of every party and democrat to respond to the crisis to democracy. He urged every party and democrat to respond to the political crisis like they joined forces when then Andhra Pradesh chief minister NT Rama Rao was toppled in a coup in 1984.
