Unite India’s farmers, lead fight: Unions to CM KCR
Hyderabad : Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was on Sunday urged by representatives of farmers’ unions from 26 states to lead the ‘Save Indian Farmers’ Movement’ by uniting the entire farming community from village to national level. A unanimous resolution backing CM was passed by the farmers’ unions who met him for the second day at Pragati Bhavanon Sunday where discussions went on for about eight hours.
The farmers also passed a resolution to fight the antifarmer policies allegedly being adopted by the Centre.
While expressing concerns over problems being faced by farmers, the TRS supremo asked them to actively participate in politics.
“Political decisions through assembly and parliamentary process would influence decisions of any government. Generally, agitation alone won’t succeed without the support of assemblies and Parliament. Farmers should not shy away from joining politics and should get elected to Parliament and assemblies,” the chief minister said.
