Telugu film shooting set to resume from September 1

Hyderabad : At last, Telugu film shootings will resume on September 1. Film shootings have been suspended on August 1 voluntarily by the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce in an attempt to iron out festering issues that became a concern for the growth of the film industry.

Producers will be granted special permission by the producers council and a committee of the film chamber if they would like to resume shootings immediately. Some producers have expressed that they would like to re-sume shootings so that they would be ready for their films’ release as per the dates planned. Sch producers will be given nod to resume shootings from August 25.

A decision that has been taken is that the prices of eatables in canteens in theatres and more particularly multiplexes should not be exorbitant. There will be a two-slab system for pricing of eatables. The exhibitors havebeen asked to keep the prices reasonable and only when big budget films are released, they can be marginally hiked. The modalities for this are being worked out.

Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) president K Basi Reddy said everyday meetings were held for eight to 10 hours with all sectors of the film industry to come to an understanding on various issues. He said some more is-sues will be discussed in the next three days. Active Telugu Film Producers Guild president Dil Raju said a meeting was also held with managers of actors and it was conveyed to them about the arrangements for smooth functioning of the film industry. Dil Raju said all decisions will be put out on August 30. “We would like to make it clear that TFCC is the film chamber and its decisions are final,” producer C Kalyan said.

An issue between exhibitors and producers has been resolved about the visual print fee (VPF) that is to be paid for digital film projection to companies. Dil Raju said the exhibitors themselves would pay it and it would not be upon the producers to pay VPF.
