Congress to intensify campaign, Revanth to camp at ground zero
Hyderabad : All the top guns of Telangana Congress who have come back from Munugode to Hyderabad will rush back to the bypoll-bound constituency on Monday after casting their vote in the election for Congress national president’s post.
Buoyed by the success of a huge rally taken out in support of Palvai Sravanthi on Friday when she filed her nomination papers, senior leaders including Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddyhave decided to stay put in Munugode up to October 20 and intensify the campaign.
Revanth will campaign in Samsthan Narayanpur mandal from October 17 to 20 and is expected to return to Hyderabad to oversee the arrangements being made for Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo yatra.
On Sunday, Congress candidate Palvai Sravanthi continued her campaign by visiting churches and meeting scores of Christians. She urged them to realise the tacit understanding between the TRS and BJP and how the saffron party is trying to divide the nation on religious lines. “Successive Congress governments have implemented numerous schemes for the welfare of Christians,” she said.
Faced with a do-or-die battle to stay in the race as the main opposition party for the 2023-Assembly polls, the Congress leaders are going to the voters with issues such as failed promises of TRS and BJP governments.
