CM KCR: Despite Centre’s ‘bias’, Telangana richest state in India

Hyderabad : Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday hit out at the Centre saying Telangana has emerged as the richest state in the country despite the former’s “discriminatory policies and bias in funding. ”

Addressing a meeting in Warangal, the CM said the per capital income of Telangana is higher than that of Maharashtra though Mumbai is the financial capital of India. “It’s a proud achievement for Telangana, which is way ahead of other states in every sphere. During the separate statehood movement, I kept telling the people that Telangana would be the richest state in the country once it is formed,” he said after inaugurating a privatehospital.

Taking a dig at the central awards given to Telangana recently, the CM said Union ministers’ only job seemed to be criticising the TRS government during their visits to the state for political reasons.

He said there was no dearth of natural resources and manpower in the country, but was suffering due to lack of a strong leadership.
