Campaign fever set to peak, nominations end

Hyderabad : With the nomination process for Munugode bypolls ending on Friday, the assembly constituency is set for a high-octane campaign in the next two weeks.

All the major parties, TRS, BJP and Congress, have already deployed important leaders to campaign in mandals and villages, while public meetings and roadshows are being planned by parties in the segment in the next 10 days.

As the election is prestigious and viewed as a semi-final before the crucial 2023 assembly elections, all the key players are leaving no stone unturned to emerge victorious in Munugode.

Sources in TRS said a roadshow by party working president KT Rama Rao is being planned from Choutuppal covering important mandal headquarters such as Narayanpur, Gattuppal, Marriguda and Munugode after October 20. KTR was present when party candidate Prabhakar Reddy filed his nomination papers on Thursday and addressed a meeting in Chandur.

TRS is planning a public meeting on October 30 or 31 to be addressed by party president K Chandrasekhar Rao at Chandur with two lakh people likely to gather at the venue.

TRS has deputed nearly 100 leaders, including ministers, MLAs, MLCs and key funtionaries, to cover all villages and mandals in the constituency. They were made incharge for every 2,000 to 3,000 voters in villages and municipal wards. Ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, V Srinivas Goud, Koppula Eshwar, Satyavathi Rathod, Vemula Prashanth Reddy and others have already begun their campaign. Some more ministers T Harish Rao, S Niranjan Reddy and Mohammed Mahmood Ali are expected to hit the campaign trail in the next few days.

Apart from MLAs and MLCs, mayors and councillors from civic bodies such as Warangal Municipal Corporation mayor Gundu Sudharani are also meeting voters .

“Dayakar Rao has already completed the first round of campaign. Some leaders opened offices and deputed followers to villages and mandals,”a senior TRS leader said. Satyavathi Rathod is undertaking a padayatra, barefoot. KTR is holding tele-conferences with cadres everyday and guiding them on running the campaign and intensifying it.
