BJP, TRS not parties but biz enterprises: Rahul Gandhi

Hyderabad : Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said the dreams of the poor, farmers, women and students were being shattered as the richest of the rich were getting whatever they want thanks to largesse of the Centre, which had the full backing of the TRS government in Telangana.

He said both BJP and TRS have no concern for the poorer sections. “Today, India has the highest number of unemployed people in the last 35 years and also some of the richest persons in the world. They have the support of PM Modi and CM K Chandrasekhar Rao. BJP and TRS are not political parties but business enterprises,” Rahul Gandhisaid addressing a street-corner meeting as part of Bharat Jodo Yatra in Mahbubnagar.

He accused KCR of minting money 24x7 from irrigation projects. While the BJP was privatising PSUs and selling them to the rich, the TRSwas busy privatising the education sector. “I met a student of mechanical engineering, who could not pursue his studies as the TRS is not giving fee reimbursement.

He is now working as a delivery boy,” the Congress leader said. Farmers were not getting income for their produce. Centre brought agri laws and TRS supported the bill. The BJP imposed GST on handlooms and the TRS has not done anything to provide relief to the farmers from GST. “If Congress is voted, it will compensate the weavers,” he said promising to withdraw 5% GST on handlooms. The Congress would allocate maximum budget on education and public health, he said to applause.
